Engineers & Consultants Inc.,(ECI) started by Sri.M.S.Iyer and grew rapidly to rank amongst the leaders in the field of Small / Mini & Micro Hydel Projects. Being the pioneers in this field, our continued efforts in promoting small, mini and micro hydel projects have enabled us to grow, expand, improve and excel keeping ahead of others in the field. Decades of specialist knowledge and experience ably supported by our experienced engineering staff and senior technical members have enabled us to forge ahead and achieve new heights as a team. Today ECIR is a full fledged professional organisation engaged in Consultancy Services “from concept to commissioning” or “Water to Wire”.
We can proudly claim that as of now all the 3 private sector SHE Projects commissioned in Kerala are Engineered by us and the fourth is in progress – They are
Maniyar SHEP – 3 X 4 MW for Carborundum Universal Ltd., Commissioned in 1994.
Kuthungal SHEP – 3 X 7 MW for Indsil Electrosmelts Ltd., Commissioned in 2000.
Ullunkal SHEP – 2 X 3.75 MW for EDCL, commissioned in 2008 and
Irruttukanam MHEP – 2 X 1.5 MW for Viyyat Power Ltd. – in progress.
These projects cover the major range of works of any SHP – ie., 4 cumecs to 100 cumecs flow and 10m to 134 m head.
Sri. M.S.Iyer was given the “Small Hydro Development Award” in recognition of outstanding contribution to development of Small Hydro by International Association of Small Hydro (IASH) in the Indian Hydro Centenary Seminar held in Hyderabad in Feb 1997
